Email from Hal Mingus I am enjoying each and every volume of your magazine. Thank you for your efforts on our behalf. Recently, I had the pleasure to have a visit from LT George Atcheson. Due to a long scheduled appointment with my doctors for my annul physical I couldn’t attend the West Coast Muster at the Marina Del Rey Hotel. The reunion was partly hosted Hal Dunnigan. I emailed Phil Carrico for George’s telephone number. We had a great visit viewing home movies I had taken in Japan and Korea (which included the members of the "Big 10" he had commanded at the outbreak of the Korean War) and my scrapbook containing pictures and articles of UDT-3 activities while I was deployed in 1950 and 1951 with LCDR Chase whom he knew. It was a great visit with someone I have considered "to be a legend" for 50 plus years but never served with personally. Thanks again for your efforts. Best regards, Hal Mingus. From the UDT-SEAL Association. They are asking for donations to fund a much-needed building to house the National Headquarters for the UDT-SEAL Association and the Naval Special Warfare Foundation on prime property at Little Creek NAB. Planned opening will be reunion weekend on July 15, 2010. Gifts are tax deductible. Send cash, check, or order by credit card. I’m not sure why it is a Navy Seal Building, thinking of the past. Any way give all you can to honor all. [ top ]

50’s Frogs 2007 Reunion These Frogs are faithful. Rally in Reno, NV on Jun 12-14 2007, at the Eldorado Hotel. Get your reservation now! Use code name Frog-7. Jerry Meyer is hosting. These Frogs do a great reunion. You and yours can have a blast. For more info, you can email Jerry Meyer at reno0ohjoy@aol.com, or call him at 775-851-0913. Be there. Email from Jerry Martin I am doing about the same as always. Still moving but slowly. We had a hard rain and session in July and called insurance agent to have roof checked out today. I don’t think we will go to Florida this spring. It is getting harder to find a place that's reasonable since a lot of the apartments are being sold for condos. I am trying to send this photo of Jim Cahill (R) and his son,
Mike (L)
Click here to enlarge that I took last spring. (I say try because this $5.00 laptop that I have is really slow.) I have to get out of this chair and do something! (Jerry has been stopping by Jim Cahill’s place in celebration as he goes down to Florida in the spring.) Thanks for the photo Who says old "frogs" can’t waltz.
Phil and Laura Carrico were celebrating their 77th birthdays in their home. Son Randy and wife flew in from FL for event… Phil has some great chickens on the farm, the "Texas Chicks". I think I’ll run their photo in next issue, God Willing. [ top ]
