EDITORIAL

I believe that I speak for all Fifties Frogs in expressing our appreciation to Don Belcher, CPO, Class 007 Team2,4,12. After publication of his book he followed it in 2000 with the Fifties Frogs Magazine, publishing 15 issues. He reluctantly gave it up at the end of 2009 due to health concerns. As we used to say in the deep south we cannot say to many good things about Don and his work because he might get the BIG HEAD. We can say though that it is a project that should be continued.

Therefore, with the promise of Pam Russell to assist and my confidence that the FROG/SEAL community will furnish most of the material for publication, I have volunteered to edit and publish in electronic format only, the Fifties Frogs Magazine from this point onward.

My hope is that the magazine will be an open forum where we can share lies uh! stories from the past and have civil discussions about the issues of the past and present. I will referee where needed.

Now that we are going to an electronic version only, it would be desirable to put the Fifties Frogs web address in your favorites for easy reference. Hopefully, you will print it out for easier reading and permanency. Please notify your library, veteran’s organizations and interested friends about the availability of the magazine.

The frequency of publication will depend on how much material I receive from you. You feed this project; I just prepare the meal for presentation. I assure that there will be an annual publication and hope for more than that.

Please review our publication information for guidelines for submission. If you are not accustomed to writing just get your thoughts on paper and I will be happy to edit it for you.
