LCDR Robert Weller ,
USN
Training Class 2 COR 11/50
"Frogfeet" had eight
years of service of active duty and served in UDT One. His few years as a
Navy Frogman left him a legend in the ranks of our community regardless of
the time he served. He was released from active duty in 1954.
After that he became President (CEO) of Crossed Anchors, a salvage company.
He had Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Delaware. He retired in 1993 after 30 years in a
very interesting business. He was known and appreciated by all his fellow
Teammates and will be greatly missed.
Legend:
"Frogfeet" notes: The Korean War was impressive as the friends I
made and still stay in touch with. In civilian life, I've been salvaging
sunken Spanish Treasure Galleons off Florida reefs since 1969. We have recovered some
valuable artifacts that have been on display at various museums around the USA as "The Weller Sunken
Treasures."
My wife and I have been on a number of TV shows including NBC's 'Hunt for
Amazing Treasures.' Discovery Channel's "The 1715 Spanish",
"Grey Stone How'd They Do That," etc. I
have written and publised seven books on sunken treasure and have finished a
book on Galleon Alley."

He retired 1991 after 39 years in a
very interesting business. Married to Margaret "Lady Goldiver", they have six
children, all sons: Robert W., Richard M., Patrick D., Donald K., Robert E., and Allen
J. and three grandchildren.
Their home is in Lake Worth-Weller's Cove, FL. 1818 17th Av. No. ZIP 33450
He had a strong struggle with failed kidneys, after effects of heart surgery,
but this strapping ex-frogman had limits. He hosted crossed anchors and
sailed his frail craft across the sandbar at home port and into eternity on
October 30, 2009.
Some of Frogfeet's Treasures. Gold Spanish Coins.
What profit does one get from all his labors? I have seen that
business God has given men to keep them busy. He has made everything to suit
its time; moreover he has given men a sense of time past and future, but no
comprehension of God's work from beginning to end. I know there is nothing
good for a man except to be happy and live the best life he can while he is
alive. Ecclesiastes 9: 12
