We felt it appropriate to
prepare and publish another issue of the magazine before the annual reunion
June 23 to 27 at Riverton, Wyoming hosted by Lee “Punchy” Hughs.
Riverton is in beautiful country and Punchy is preparing a list of places to
visit. Several people are driving so there should be plenty of transportation
for local side trips.
The UDT/SEAL community had a
disturbing incident since our last muster. A SEAL was accused by, a prisoner,
of hitting the prisoner after he was captured. The incident was investigated
and as a result the accused SEAL and two others were charged. We were called
upon to assist with the legal defense as they rejected military representation.
There were questions about the specific nature of the charges. Two
charges we heard were of abuse and lying to the investigators. The second
alleged charge caused us to pause, while the first was understandable. The
matter seems to have been resolved. Lets hope that fidelity to political
correctness was the only U.S. causality in this affair.
Accompanying this magazine on
our website are: (1) guidelines and procedures for submitting items for
publication, and (2) guidelines and a form for submitting a Bio; please review
these and take action as appropriate.
We need one or more volunteers
to review books that may be of interest to our associates. Your reviews will be
published in the Fifties Frogs Magazine.
